Using a home page
|

This is the home page for this group. Every
group (the school, each class, club, sport, etc.) has its own
home page. The home page contains a picture and a description
of the group as well as boxes and folders that hold important
information about the group. Each home page is divided into the
sections you see in the picture below. Click on the oval labels
to read about each section.

TIP:
You may not see all of these sections on every home page.
For example, if a teacher is not using the class calendar,
you will not see the Calendar box on that class home
page.

| Contents

|
The Contents
box holds important group information. In a class, for instance,
the Contents box often holds assignments, grade reports,
sample quizzes, and other class-related items. These items
are organized into folders.
|

|
|
In the picture above, "Assignments"
is a folder that holds all the assignments for this class. Just
click on "Assignments" to see the list of assignments.
Then click on a specific assignment to read about it.

If you see a "More contents..." link
at the bottom of the Contents box, that means there are
more items in the list than will fit in this box. Click this link
to see the full list.

| Links

The Links box contains links
to other web sites that may be useful to people who visit
this group. In this example, we have included a link to
an encyclopedia to help students with their homework.

The News box contains documents like
special announcements and important reminders that you will probably
want to read right away. The most recent items are listed at the
top of the box.

Each news item has a short summary displayed
below the title. This is not the whole story! Click on the title
of a news item to read the full story.

If you see a "More news..." link
at the bottom of the News box, that means there are more
items in the list than will fit in this box. Click this link to
see the full list. Then just click the title of a News article
read it.

there are no news articles, then the News box is

The Calendar box lists the next five events
from this group's calendar. To see the whole calendar, click the
"Calendar View..." or "More events..." links
at the bottom of the box.

The date and title of each event is displayed.
Some events also have a short summary (like the Quiz in the picture
above). Click on the name of an event to see the full description.
