Future Student

If you are new to the Cupertino Union School District, please first read all the pages in the Registration folder.  You can also use the Address Locator to verify if indeed Lincoln Elementary is your neighborhood school.

Student Registration Requirements

The school district has specific requirements before a student can attend Lincoln Elementary. Parents must provide the student's proof of residency, proof of age, and proof of immunizations. Refer to the documents below for an explanation of each.

Register at the Lincoln School Office

If school is still in session, and you have met the registration requirements above, parents should register their student at Lincoln Elementary, 21710 McClellan Road, Cupertino, CA 95014, (408) 252-4798. Registration dates for incoming students will be posted on the school calendar which can be found on this site's homepage.  During the summer months, please go to the District Office .

New Kindergarten Registration

Kindergarten Registration for the new school year begins in January/February.   When the dates have been determined, they will be posted on the Lincoln school calendar.  Please read more on Kindergarten 2012-13 registration instruction info.

Important Kindergarten Registration Information: Enrollment packets are sequentially numbered AT THE TIME OF PICK UP. Lincoln Elementary kindergarten priority for assignment into either the early session or late start session is assigned based on the enrollment packet number. Preference does not guarantee placement. All other registration requirements must be met to complete registration.

Handbook and Purchasing Supplies

Parents of new students should read the School Handbook. It is a great reference about student life at Lincoln. Parents should also purchase school supplies so their student will have the right tools to use for class.

Open Enrollment and Alternative Schools

Cupertino Union School District (CUSD) provides the option of Open Enrollment within the district. This allows parents to transfer their children to any CUSD school that has space. You can get a listing of all the CUSD elementary schools here and instructions on open enrollment here.

CUSD also provides the option of alternative education schools. Each alternate education school stresses its own unique program for learning. Enrollment is limited and selection is done by lottery. There are four schools currently that provide alternative programs.  The district's alternative schools are indicated on the elementary schools page with the indication 'Alternative Program'  under the school name.  This includes: Faria, McAuliffe, Meyerholz (Mandarin Immersion Alternative), and Murdock-Portal and you can research them online. Instructions for applying to an alternative school can be found here.
