Heritage Is Top High School at Florida State Science Fair After Dominating at County Competition
Fifteen Heritage science students earned over 30 awards presented at the Florida State Science Fair in April. This included four first place winners, with one entry earning the best of fair Grand Prize. Two students will go on to the International Science and Engineering Fair to be held in Pittsburgh in May. American Heritage claimed the most awards of any high school in the state.
The fifteen students who competed at states earned the right to represent Heritage and Broward County following an exceptional showing at the recent County Science Fair, where Heritage was the top performing school for the eighth consecutive year.
The ten high school students who competed at the Florida State Science Fair are Jude Alawa, Osvaldo Bianchi, Reinaldo Cevallos, Angelica Gousse, Andrey Gubanov, Harshath Gupta, Sameer Kailasa, Miguel Paredes, Kristina Thoren, and Mayuri Viswanathan. Middle school students who competed are Trevor Birenbaum, Moriah Bocus, Suganth Kannan, Nithya Kasarla, and Nicholas Mirchandani.
