Daniel Curiale, Environmental Health and Safety Specialist – Began his career with Brevard County Schools as a part time custodian at Harbor City Elementary after moving to Melbourne, Florida from his home town of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. While at Harbor city he quickly learned how important of a role custodians play in the health and safety of the children and faculty of Brevard County Schools. From there he got a promotion to head custodian at Meadowlane Primary. While at Meadowlane, he worked side by side with his staff maintaining the facility to custodial standards and led his team in creating a clean, safe and positive environment for all who attended. It was while working at Meadowlane he received the award of Employee of the Year. From there he got a promotion to Plant Operations Central Custodial Services as a Custodial Trainer. He was responsible for inspecting, training, assisting and guiding site based custodians with maintaining their facilities to custodial standards. He also performed site-based assessments twice a year of the facility and assisted with redirection plans for said assessments. He obtained his Limited Lawn and Ornamental License and Limited Structure Pesticide Applicators License and controlled all IPM pest issues within Brevard county Facilities. He recently got a promotion to the Environmental Health and Safety department as a Safety Specialist. He works closely with Indoor air quality issues and assisting wherever needed. He will be working on obtaining his Fire Safety Inspector certification and Asbestos certification.
