Middle School Physical Education Philosophy

The goal of physical education in Brevard Public Schools is to provide students with a standards based, balanced, sequential and progressive educational activity program.  The program aimed at seventh and eigth grade students includes movement concepts and skills that are age and developmentally appropriate.  This in turn leads to the development of motor skills, knowledge and values, which are needed to establish and maintain a healthy and physically active lifestyle. Our Middle School Curriculum focuses on developing health and skill related fitness as well as sport skills. Sports, at the middle school level, are modified to be developmentally appropriate.
