The animal science division provides both hands on and technological experiences in both the equine and livestock programs.  While it shares a common basic related core of studies, by the nature of the sizes of the animals, there are a number of differences in:

  • COMPARATIVE ZOOLOGY

  • LARGE ANIMAL PRODUCTION

  • NUTRITION

  • PATHOLOGY

In addition to the care and maintenance of animals, there are also opportunities for showing and judging. Outstanding riders may choose to try out for one of our drill teams (dressage) which perform during the school year. The large animal major enables students to go into the job market or on to college.  By having a fully certified four year, 180 day academic program, many graduates do both.
