     Burns High School is located between the communities of Burns and Hines in the High Desert of Southeastern Oregon. It is one of two high schools serving Harney County, with over 10,000 square miles of sagebrush, timber and rangeland. Harney County is inhabitated by 7,600 people (less than one person per square mile), 350,000 cattle and a multitude of wildlife including deer, elk, pronghorn, and migratory birds.

     Burns High School has an enrollment of approximately 350 students in grades 9-12. Although small, we are proud of the accomplishments of our students. Co-curricular activities involve a large portion of our student body and have resulted in several state titles in recent years, including awards for sportmanship and academics. With a rigorous and diverse curriculum and community service activities, our students are well prepared to further their education or enter the workforce.
