Coordinator:    Robin Hutchison
Group Leaders:   Valerie Mixon, Nancy Henderson, Johana Fontanez

Carroll's Kids provides a safe and happy environment beyond the school day that challenges and encourages children to participate in varied activities while supervised by caring, qualified staff.
Our program offers a curriculum that encourages children to explore and choose from a variety of activities that are fun, stimulating and of interest to them.  Activities included arts and crafts, electronic and board games, sports, homework assistance and more.  Other programs and activities will be scheduled when sufficient interest is shown.  Parent suggestions are encouraged and appreciated.
Staff Qualifications
All staff members are trained in childcare.  They must meet District screening requirements and participate in recommended and required staff development training.  We strive to maintain the lowest possible staff-student ratio never exceeding the recommended ratio of 1 adult to 25 children.
In case of injury or illness, parents will be called.  In case of serious injury, emergency medical personnel will be notified immediately.  The staff may apply first aid to minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises. If your child becomes ill, we will call you to come pick them up.  We typically send children home for the following reasons: fever (100 degrees or higher), vomiting and bathroom accidents.
Student medical insurance shall be the responsibility of parents and guardians.  An accident insurance program for Brevard County schools is available and parents are encouraged to purchase it, as the school board accepts no financial responsibility for accidents occurring on the school grounds.
Behavior and Discipline
Discipline procedures in the Carroll's Kids program are consistent with the school's discipline policy and guidelines.  Children are expected to participate in activities and behave in a manner that enables all students to feel safe and enjoy themselves.  Parents will be notified if incidents cannot be resolved within the program.  Conduct reports will be issued for repeated unacceptable behavior or unsafe actions.  Three conduct reports within one 10-week period may result in expulsion from the program.
