What is the School Advisory Council?

The Challenger 7 School Advisory Council (SAC) shall be composed of the principal, an appropriately balanced number of teachers, education support employees, a minimum of one community member, parents, and other business and citizens who are representative of the ethnic, racial, and economic community served by the school.  At least 51% of the council's membership shall be composed of nonschool board employees.  The SAC is responsible for analyzing school data, writing a School Improvement Plan (SIP) that addresses the school's needs, and overseeing its implementation.  The public is welcome to attend all meetings as nonvoting members.  All meetings are held at 4:00 in the Media Center.  Following are the meeting dates for the 2013-2014 school year:  September 10, October 8, November 5, December 10, January 14, February 11, March 11, April 15, and May 13.
