Dress Code Policy

 

TOPS
Navy blue, white or red are the only colors permitted.
Must have either short or long sleeves
Must have a collar (i.e. polo shirt) or be a turtleneck, unless it is Friday, and it is an official Channing T-shirt.
No blouses.
All tops must fit properly. See-through fabric is not permitted.
 
BOTTOMS
Navy blue and khaki (tan) ARE the only colors permitted.
Shorts and capris may be worn ONLY during the 1st and 4th quarters of the year.
Skirts, jumpers, shorts (of appropriate length) skorts and dresses are permitted.
Tights (such as those worn by girls with skirts or dresses) must be navy blue, white, red or tan.
Leggings, “jeggings”, or other types of pants that fit too tightly are NOT permitted.
Bottoms must not be worn so low on the hips that undergarments are exposed.
 
SWEATERS/SWEATSHIRTS
These are acceptable if in correct school colors and worn with a collared uniform shirt underneath.
Hoodies may be worn TO school but not IN school.
 
SHOES
Dress shoes or gym shoes are permitted. Laces must match and shoes must be tied.
Boots are permitted on inclement weather days ONLY. Boots may not be worn during the day. Students are expected to bring shoes into which they may change once they enter the building in the morning.
High top tennis shoes, knee height Converse style shoes that lace up the calf, fashion boots, flip flops, etc. are NOT permitted.
 
HAIR
Must be neat, clean and of natural color. NO HAIR DYES are permitted.
 
MISCELLANEOUS
Only stud earrings are permitted. Size is to be minimal.
NO tattoos are permitted.
Hats may NOT be worn.
NO make up or fake nails are permitted.
NO apparel containing graphics or designs of questionable expression are permitted.
