Forms are available on the table outside of the Career Center beginning Monday, Jan. 4 (teacher work day) or contact Mr. John Dollinger, Post 103 Am Legion, at 941-661-8086 over winter break.
All grade levels are eligible; Requirements:
- Present an original Prepared Oration of not less than 8 min nor more than 10 min on some aspect of the Constitution of the U.S. with emphasis on the duties and obligations of a citizen to our government.
- You will be given 5 minutes to develop an Assigned Topic Oration of not less than 3 minutes nor more than 5 mins. on a specific topic that will be drawn at the contest. The topics to be drawn include: Amendment 8;
- Amendment 26;
- Article 1 SEction 9 Paragraph ; and
- Article 1 Section 6 Clause 1
All interested students are encouraged to come to school Monday, Jan 4 or Tuesday, Jan 5 to the front office or to the Career Center and pick up a complete information packet. Packets will also be available first day of school on Wednesday, Jan 6.
