Mrs. Joyce Jeffrey, Assistant Principal
Coquina’s assistant principal is Mrs. Joyce Jeffrey. Mrs. Jeffrey grew up in the great state of Oklahoma! She lived in Oregon for almost ten years and has lived in Florida for fifteen years of her life. She now considers herself a Floridian. She attemded college at the University of Oklahoma but finished her Bachelor's degree at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She also continues to consider herself an Oklahoma Sooner… Boomer Sooner!!!
Education was Mrs. Jeffrey’s second career. She has worked for an airline in accounting and a television station in commercial sales. She believes education is her calling. She has worked in diverse settings throughout her career in education and has taught grades third through eighth. She continued her education after moving to Florida in 1999, earning a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. Jeffrey taught for five years in Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Jeffrey was a National Board certified teacher, holding certifications in Elementary Education, Reading K-12 and Educational Leadership. She taught in Brevard County for twelve years before becoming assistant principal at Coquina two years ago.
Mrs. Jeffrey has been married for over thirty-four years. She has three sons, two daughter-in-laws, two grandsons and two granddaughters.
