Mrs. Katrina Hudson, Principal
Katrina Hudson is proud to be in the North Area! She is the principal of Coquina Elementary in Titusville, Florida. Katrina Hudson is a product of Brevard County Public Schools, having attended Saturn Elementary, Clearlake Middle, and Cocoa High Schools. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Florida State University and a Master of Science degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. She has 16 years of teaching and administrative experience in Brevard County as well as in Broward and Leon counties. Prior to becoming principal, Mrs. Hudson served as the assistant principal for four years at Roy Allen Elementary in Melbourne.
Katrina Hudson is proud of her past four years as principal at Coquina. She has felt welcomed by her students, teachers, parents, and community! At Coquina, Mrs. Hudson has actively taken strides to improve the achievement of all students. She sees her role as one who provides the tools and resources to assist teachers to reach students at their optimal level. Mrs. Hudson believes that all children can learn and can learn at high levels when there is rigor, relevance, and relationships present in the school.
Mrs. Hudson is an avid reader who enjoys spending time with her family. She has been married to her husband, Edwin, of fifteen years and they enjoy their two children, Demetria, 14, and Edwin Jr. (EJ), 6. Katrina’s family has always been a support to her and she prides herself in her close-knit family.
Principal Hudson believes that our students not only have the ability to dream but to live their dreams by providing them with the necessary tools to achieve and succeed!
Mrs. Joyce Jeffrey, Assistant Principal
Coquina’s assistant principal is Mrs. Joyce Jeffrey. Mrs. Jeffrey grew up in the great state of Oklahoma! She lived in Oregon for almost ten years and has lived in Florida for fifteen years of her life. She now considers herself a Floridian. She attemded college at the University of Oklahoma but finished her Bachelor's degree at Concordia University in Portland, Oregon where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She also continues to consider herself an Oklahoma Sooner… Boomer Sooner!!!
Education was Mrs. Jeffrey’s second career. She has worked for an airline in accounting and a television station in commercial sales. She believes education is her calling. She has worked in diverse settings throughout her career in education and has taught grades third through eighth. She continued her education after moving to Florida in 1999, earning a Master’s degree in Education Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. Mrs. Jeffrey taught for five years in Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Jeffrey was a National Board certified teacher, holding certifications in Elementary Education, Reading K-12 and Educational Leadership. She taught in Brevard County for twelve years before becoming assistant principal at Coquina two years ago.
Mrs. Jeffrey has been married for over thirty-four years. She has three sons, two daughter-in-laws, two grandsons and two granddaughters.
