Since 2010, 45 states have adopted the same standards for English and Mathematics. These standards are called the Common Core State Standards (CCSS). Having the same standards ensures that all students have access to an outstanding and consistent education. Teachers, parents, and education experts designed the CCSS to prepare students for success in college and the workplace.

The Cupertino Union School District is currently engaging in a systemic conversation regarding the implementation of the CCSS at each school in the District. This effort involves teachers, staff, students, parents, and community members.
