Donning green and white attire, kindergarten through third-grade students at Dows Lane Elementary School celebrated their school spirit and unity during the annual Bulldog Day on June 1. A group of Irvington High School juniors and seniors joined in the festivities to facilitate a variety of games and activities throughout the day.
“Bulldog Day is our annual field day, which is full of excitement and fun-filled activities for all children of Dows Lane,” said physical education teachers Tiffany Flynn and Marisa Straccuzzi, who planned and organized the event. “We all came together as a community and the day was a great success.”
The students participated in a variety of activities including relays, parachute and tug-of-war, and were treated to a special visit by the school’s mascot Buddy, who danced and celebrated with the entire Dows Lane community. In the afternoon, members of the Irvington Police Department generously donated ice pops to all students and the day ended with a schoolwide dance party.
