Irvington Educators Collaborate with Authors, Teachers to Improve Instruction

Twenty Irvington Union Free School District teachers recently worked with educators from other states and countries to learn how to make a lasting change in their classrooms. During a daylong MasterClass World Tour workshop, hosted by the District, they worked with authors of three best-selling educational technology books.

Holly Clark, co-author of “The Google Infused Classroom,” Trevor MacKenzie, author of “Dive into Inquiry” and Kelly Hilton, co-author of “The HyperDoc Handbook,” collaborated with the teachers to discuss how they can incorporate the lessons from each of their books, to develop better learning outcomes for their students.

“Over the course of the day, each author provided insight into the content of their book and examples of instructional uses,” Director of Technology Jesse Lubinsky said. “Attendees also had time to develop their own resources with guidance and assistance from the authors.”

Throughout the school year, Irvington educators will have the opportunity to reconnect with the authors at several after-school meetings to further improve their work.
