Greenbrier High School is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS) and by the Georgia Accrediting Commission.
The current enrollment for 2015-2016 is 1,737 including a Senior Class of 412.
Seniors and juniors have the option of attending 6 or 7 classes per day. Sophomores and fresmen must attend 7 classes per day. Each class period averages 50 minutes in length. The school year is 180 days in length with two 18 week semesters. Report cards are issued each nine weeks.
CREDIT AND RANKING
Carnegie units aer awarded at 1/2 unit per semester course. Students are ranked according to their numerical average carried to three decimal places. All courses are included in the rank and nuermical average. A factor of 1.05 is used to determine final grades for Advanced Placement courses.
A: 90-100 B: 80-89 C: 73-79 D: 70-72 F: BELOW 70
Students in the Class of 2016 must earn a minimum of 23 Carnegie units including specific courses in a prescribed program of study: Math - 4 units; English - 4 units; Science - 4 units; Social Studies - 3 units; Health & Personal Fitness - 1 unit; Modern Language\Career, Technology, Education(CTAE)\Fine Arts - 3 units; General Electives - 4 units, core subjects strongly recommended.
