School District U-46, in collaboration with local libraries, has launched a Library Card Challenge Thursday, March 2 through Monday, April 3, 2017 to promote library card ownership for all elementary students. Students can register for their own library card and show their new card to their principal or teacher or they can show their principal or teacher the library card of a parent or guardian.
To participate in the Library Card Challenge, please have your student show their new library card to their principal or teacher. If your student has not signed up for a library card, visit your local public library’s registration desk with proof of local residency and a library card will be printed for your child. Trophies will be awarded to the school with the highest number of library cardholders and to the school with the largest increase in library cardholders.
