10/15/2012 -- You aren’t looking at a re-run of “Doogie Howser, M.D.” But a Parkway teenager is checking the blood pressure of Deputy Superintendent Desi Kirchhofer at Barnes Jewish Hospital in West County--as Superintendent Keith Marty watches.
The student is part of a new program that places seniors in hospital settings to learn firsthand about the field. Read more about Parkway’s commitment to train students early for future growth jobs in Scholastic Administrator magazine.
Special thanks to Jennifer Stanfill, coordinator of career and technical education, for helping set up Parkway’s new program, known as the “Pre-Professional Health Sciences Academy.”
And thanks to Desi for agreeing to have his blood pressure checked.
