PSAT ? Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (National Merit Scholarship Test)

The PSAT is administered to students in the fall of their sophomore year. The test is preparation for the SAT and offers students an opportunity to enter National Merit Scholarship programs.

The PSAT exam is 2 hours and 10 minutes and tests students in the following areas:

Critical Reading = (2) Two 25 minute sections/48 questions

-13 sentence completion questions

-35 critical reading questions

 

Math Problem Solving = (2) Two 25 minute sections/38 questions

-28 multiple choice questions

-10 student produced response questions

 

Writing = 30 minute section/39 questions

-14 identifying sentence errors questions

-20 improving sentence questions

-5 improving paragraph questions
