La Plata's acappella group!

Unplugged is La Plata High School’s a cappella group whose fun and energy-filled performances bring smiles to the faces of audiences everywhere!  Unplugged is also a service organization that uses music to raise money for local charities with their “Coffee House” concerts.  Throughout their four years in existence, they have raised thousands of dollars for the Relay for Life, The Steel Lillies Fund (for sarcoma research), the Shawn King Scholarship fund, the Katie Murray Scholarship Foundation, and most recently Maddie’s Lemonade Stand, a charity for a teacher’s eight- year- old niece who is battling leukemia.   They also perform for charitable events around the community such as “Christmas in April”, The Southern Maryland Women’s League, and for the Southern Maryland Blue Crabs baseball team’s “Breakfast with Santa”.  Unplugged is always a hit at school and community functions and has quite a following in the area.  They are a talented and generous bunch of young people whose passion for music is contagious and who are determined to make the world a better place through song!  Contact:  Denise Childers
