LEAD Program

L.E.A.D Program
Living Elegantly, Ambitiously and Dauntlessly

LEAD is an enrichment program aimed at developing leadership skills, cultural pride, self-esteem, self-control, and conflict resolution skills in girls in grades 5th through 8th in School District U-46. The program is facilitated by a small group of upstanding community members with support from staff at Larsen, Ellis, and Eastview Middle Schools and Ronald O’Neal, Heritage, and Harriet Gifford Elementary Schools. The women have a passion to help young people in the community become upstanding citizens and positive leaders in school and the community.

In previous years, our L.E.A.D. Program has participated in community service projects with the Community Crisis Center and Second Baptist Church of Elgin. This school year, 2017-2018, the LEAD Program is scheduled to do service projects at Feed My Starving Children in Schaumburg, IL, and Food for Greater Elgin, Inc. in Elgin, IL.
