Florida Future Problem Solving Program is an affiliate of the Future Problem Solving Program International (FPSPI). FPSPI engages students in creative problem solving. Founded by creativity pioneer, Dr. E. Paul Torrance, FPSPI stimulates critical and creative thinking skills and encourages students to develop a vision for the future. FPSPI features curricular and co-curricular competitive, as well as non-competitive, activities in creative problem solving depending on grade level. Future Problem Solving Program International involves over 250,000 students annually from Australia, Canada, China, Great Britain, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Portugal,  Russia, Singapore, South Africa, Turkey, and the United States.

Participants develop skills of teamwork, communication, research, critical and creative thinking, analysis, synthesis and evaluation.  They learn to apply these skills to situations that are futuristic but oriented to real life.  The competitive aspects of FPS are fun but the benefits of learning a process that can be used for the rest of their lives is the reason why we continue to offer it to our students each year.

FPSPI Mission: To develop the ability of young people globally to design and promote positive futures using critical, creative thinking.
