Lowrie Elementary School Uniform Dress Code

 

Dress for Success

 

Approved Shirts:

  • Colors: navy blue, red, white, or light (powder) blue.
  • Solid colored shirt with collar or hood, three button polo with collar, button down, blouse or turtlenecks.
  • Navy blue or red solid colored hoodies properly fitted may be worn over uniform.
  • Shirts may be long or short sleeve, no sleeveless. Midriff must be covered.
  • Students may wear sweaters, cardigans, vests or sweatshirts with a collar over an approved shirt, but they must also be in an approved color.
  • Spirit-wear, meaning clothing purchased from Lowrie School or PTA, Battle of the Books, DARE, or Olympic Day shirts may be worn.
  • Undershirts may be worn under an approved shirt. The undershirt should not be  visible below the shirt and it must be solid colored in one of the approved colors.
  • The appropriate shirt length will not go below the top of the inseam of the pants.
  • Button down shirts should be buttoned up; however, the top two buttons may be unbuttoned if the wearer chooses.
  • Store or brand name logos must not be larger than a quarter. No inappropriate writing or pictures (alcohol, tobacco, skulls, weapons, etc).

 

Approved Bottoms:

  • Colors: khaki (tan, not green) or navy blue
  • Boys: solid navy blue or khaki pants or shorts.
    • Shorts must have at least a 6 inch inseam.
    • Pants and shorts must fit properly at the waist, with a belt if necessary, and the pant leg should not cover the toe of the shoe.
    • Shorts may NOT be worn November 1 through February 28.
  • Girls: solid navy blue or khaki pants, shorts, capris, skirts, skorts or jumpers.Skirts, jumpers and shorts must be no higher than 3 inches above the knee.All bottoms must fit properly at the waist, with a belt if necessary, and the pant leg should not cover the toe of the shoe.
    • Shorts must have at least a six inch inseam.
    • Shorts may NOT be worn November 1 through February 28.
    • Skirts, skorts, capris and jumpers may be worn throughout the year, but November 1 through February 28 tights, leggings, or knee-hi socks in approved school colors must be worn with them.

 

Belts:

  • Black, brown or approved school colors and NO embellishments, chains, extensions.

 

Shoes:

  • Shoe laces must coordinate with the main shoe color.
  • Laces must be tied.
  • NO flips flops: platform shoes, high heels or healys.

 

NOT ALLOWED:

  • Jeans, sweat pants, track pants or gym shorts, including basketball shorts.
  • No rips or tears. If a patch is needed it must be the same color as the garment.
  • No bandanas, hair nets, or hats in school.
  • No unnatural coloring of hair or hairstyles that would create a disruption.
  • Screen prints are not allowed.
  • No face paints or visible tattoos.

 

To Dress for Success, clothing should be clean and neat daily.
