District to Introduce New Student Information System

District to Introduce New Student Information System

Beginning July 1, 2017, Mars Area School District is excited to introduce Skyward, a new web-based tool that will enable parents/guardians to view school-related information for students via a secure Internet connection.

Skyward, which is replacing the District’s current student information system as well as the grading/reports portion of Edline, will include a variety of student information such as attendance, grades, student schedules, demographics and more. Access to any provided student information will be restricted, in accordance with the Family Educational Rights & Privacy Act (FERPA).

As of July 1, access to students’ grades and reports will no longer be available via the District’s Edline website, which is also being replaced with a new site through the web provider, edlio. The primary web address for the District will remain at www.marsk12.org; however, the website will have a new design and information may be accessed differently. The new website will include a link directly to Skyward.

More details, including specific directions for logging in and accessing student information in Skyward, will be distributed to all District parents/guardians (K-12) in mid-June. Some information may not be immediately available in Skyward for all students as the District is continuing to work to implement this new system.
