Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team for their 13 peat district championship last night against Satellite. The lady mustangs will take their home court next Weds 10/25 against Tavares in the region ¼ final. Please come out to cheer them on!!
JV football players that have not worked two varsity games this year should be at the fieldhouse tonight by 5:25 to pick up their jersey and work the game. See one of the varsity coaches when you get to the fieldhouse for your jersey, then report to the concession stand to get further details. See Ms. Nobles or Ms. Allen to find out what your duty will be.

If you are going on the FAME Academy field trip to Kennedy Space Center-- please meet in the drama room first period on Monday. They will take attendance and leave from there. No large backpacks or purses. Remember to bring money to cover your lunch or bring a sack lunch.
We have three college admission representatives on campus next week. UCF will be here Tuesday, October 24th at 1:30 in the Career Center Johnson and Wales University will be on campus Wednesday, October 25th at 10am. Florida Southern College will be here Thursday, October 26th at 10:30 am. Students interested in attending any of these college sessions MUST sign up in guidance ahead of time!
Red Ribbon Week begins Monday, Oct. 23. Teachers will have a little surprise in their mailboxes on Monday to hand out to 5th period students to begin our “Drug Free is Key” week! Students Against Destructive Decisions will have a Banner signing on Wednesday for students to pledge to be drug free and you can enter a Red Ribbon T-shirt drawing. Drawing winners will receive their t-shirts Wednesday afternoon.
Thursday is wear RED day and MIHS would like to win the photo contest. Everyone wearing red will be asked to join us in the Commons for a photo during 5th period. So- wear RED SHIRTS, SHORTS, SKIRTS, PANTS OR DRESSES during 5th period on Thursday. We want a lot of red!
Friday, the class with the highest percentage of students wearing red will receive an ice cream party during 5th period! Remember, DRUG FREE IS KEY, Mustangs!
The Key Club is sponsoring the “FOOD 4 THOUGHT” food drive this year. Bring donations of non-perishable food items to 5th period from Monday, Oct. 23 thru Friday, Nov. 3. Donations will be given to the Brevard Sharing Center to help those in our community who are struggling to feed their families. The winning class will receive a PIZZA PARTY!!!
PERT Bootcamp starts on Oct. 24 to help students get a passing score on the Math PERT Test. Please see your guidance counselor to sign-up.

Lewis Carroll is seeking volunteers for the Reading with a Porpoise program. You would need go to Lewis Carroll one day a week from 7:45 to 8:15 to have elementary students read to you. There will be a brief meeting for anyone who is interested Wednesday, Oct. 25, at 8am in the Lewis Carroll media center.

Current Dual Enrollment and Collegiate High students need meet with your MIHS Guidance Counselor NOW to complete the required registration paperwork for EFSC courses starting this Spring/Summer 2018. Appointments with EFSC advisors are available ONLINE. Registration with an appointment begins October 30th. Walk-in registration begins Nov 6th.
The Florida State University Presidential Scholarship provides $12,000 for educational enrichment such as international experiences, research and creative projects, service learning, internships, and entrepreneurial development. Apply online at presidentialscholars.fsu.edu/. Applications are due by December 1, 2017.

Seniors- Grad Bash is on April 28th. Tickets are $100.00 cash only on sale NOW to March 1st. There are a limited number of tickets, so they are sold on a first come first serve basis. See Ms. Conover in N103.
