If you checked out a library book before Spring Break, it is due now - please return or renew before school or during lunch this week. Seniors, all financial obligations to the media center need to be cleared before you pick up graduation tickets. If you have a book out or owe a fine, please take care of it now!
Attention seniors - Project Graduation will be selling T-shirts, which is your ticket into Project Graduation, during lunches in front of the media center. Cost is $20.00 cash. Don’t lose out on this fun night after graduation – there are lots of games, prizes and money to win!!!
Attendance Appeal Forms are now available for students to pick up in the Deans’ Office. Any student who has missed 9 or more days (excused or unexcused) in any class must complete an Attendance Appeal or credit for their classes may be in jeopardy. All completed forms must be returned to the Deans’ Office by April 28th.
National Honor Society is accepting applications for any up-coming Junior or Senior. You must have an Unweighted GPA of 3.5 to be eligible. Applications are in the front office or you can pick one up from Ms. Epperson in room C-119. Applications are due back by 3:30, Tuesday, May 2nd.
EARTH DAY IS ON SATURDAY!

Carpool, ride your bike or walk.
Use a reusable water cup.
Take shorter showers.
Eat less meat.
Shop at consignment stores.
Round-up Leaders, please don’t forget to stop by N-102 with your money for your t-shirt, and make plans to be at the first mandatory meeting on April 27th right after school in N-102.
Our next and last blood drive this school year is May 5. Blood drive sign-ups are next week. OneBlood Club Members – please go by Ms. Wallschlag’s classroom to sign up to work the next blood drive. Bring a friend to help for next school year.
Tickets for the spring musical, “Once On This Island,” are $10, and will be available for purchase before each performance at the ticket counter in the performing arts center. Show dates and times are Friday, April 21st at 7, April 22nd at 2 and 7, and April 23rd at 2.
Attention Seniors: if you have been offered an academic scholarship and have accepted it, please complete the information form available in guidance which gives the Academic Club the opportunity to recognize you at the Academic Awards Ceremony on Thursday, May 11, 2017.
Attention dual enrollment and collegiate high school students: Registration for Eastern Florida State College Summer classes began Monday April 17th if you have an appointment – walk in begins on Mon. May 1st. Fall appointments begin April 24th. If you want to take summer dual enrollment, you need to see your counselor now to get a registration form! Make sure you bring a copy of your schedule back to Mrs. Adams in guidance once you’ve registered!
Seniors—The Give Kids A Chance Scholarship is available to students with financial need. Application deadline is April 30th. Please go online to MIHS’ Website under Guidance and then under Scholarships. You apply online and the link is provided there.
The Melbourne Art Festival is this weekend at Wickham Park in Viera. Our students will be showing artwork from Ceramics, Drawing and Painting and Photography in the student exhibit, so go check it out!
Also, the School Board Art Show is happening Tuesday evening from 4-6PM at the School Board Building in Viera. There will be more than 400 student artworks on display.
Seniors—this is your last chance to submit pictures and videos for the senior video. Please email pictures and short videos from 9th through 12th grade to firstname.lastname@example.org. Don’t be left out!
Students—if you are interested in taking an online course this summer, please sign up now (you can choose your start date to be after school lets out) so that your Counselor can go ahead and approve it.
