Welcome to the 2011-12 Milford High School Concert Band Edline Page

Welcome to the 2011-12 Milford High School Concert Band.  The band is made up of students grades 9-12, and will perform publically four times during the 2011-12 school year(winter, D14 contest preview, D14 contest, and spring).

This year the band will be playing the music of Del Borgo, Grainger, Grundman, Sheldon, Shostakovich, Standridge, and VanderCook to name a few.  Class will focus on developing musical technique and proficiency and displaying said items in outstanding performance of well-known wind band literature.

 UPDATE (9/30/11):

I am very pleased with the progress of the concert band.  We have been focusing on technique through the Symphonic Techniques book and by rhythm reading.  We have also focused attention on concert music for the December concert.  Testing went well and students showed improvment.
