Canada 150 – Mrs. Knorr-Bingham and Mrs. Kerr-Goodfellow

The SRC, SL and Mrs. Knorr Bingham’s Social Studies Classes would like to extend an invite to the community to join our school in celebrating Canada’s 150 Celebration. Please join us for a barbeque lunch from 11:30-1pm with a brief sing-song in the gymnasium, which will showcase original Canadian Songs from grades: 1-7.

Following this will be the “Fly-By” Project performed by Kolby Kurtz and Blake Blackbeard, which will be held in the soccer field.

This event will be held on Monday June 12th.   This is the date that everyone at the school should be wearing red and white in honor of Canada’s 150th birthday.

Save the date! Hope to see you there.

On Tuesday, June 6th the grade 4-6 students will be competing at the Tri-Meet which Maidstone has agreed to host for us this year.  They are offering taco salad in a bag for lunch and it is available online only until tonight.  If your child does not like that you should send them a bag lunch as they are not selling hot dogs or other lunch items only snacks.

Please make sure you child is wearing appropriate clothing for the weather and proper footwear for racing and other events.  Other items that your child may need are a hat, sunscreen and a water bottle.  Please make sure their items are labeled with their name.

The bus will leave the school promptly at 9:00 am and will return at 3:15.  Sometimes it is later when the bus returns and then we have to hold the other buses.  If your bus is late that day, that is why.

Back to School Solutions is a company that provides a purchasing service for your Fall school supplies.  Each student has been sent a form home with the instructions and the list of school supplies needed for next school year on the back.  You are not in any way obligated to purchase your supplies through this company, but the parents who have in the past have been very pleased with the quality of the products and the ease of getting their supplies.  Instructions are on the form for ordering through the school or online.  Orders are delivered to the school before school starts for parent pickup and they contain name labels for all items.

If you are ordering through the school your order must be in by June 21st.  If ordering online you can order until August 4th.

We are once again asking parents to send a self-addressed, stamped envelope to the school if you are unable to pick up your child’s report card on the morning of June 30th.
