Carlos M. González, Jr. is a product of the community of Othello. Mr. González graduated from Othello High School in 1995. He has earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology from Washington State University in July 2000. He then earned his Residency and Professional Teaching Certificates in Health & Fitness from Washington State University in 2002 and 2005, respectively. In May 2005, Mr. González earned his Masters of Education degree in Education Administration from Washington State University and his Residency Administrator's Certificate in February 2007.
Mr. González's successful teaching experiences include assignments in Health & Fitness and Reading as a Reading Intervention Specialist in North Franklin Schools from 2002 to 2007. He was also a high school coach for football, wrestling, and baseball. Mr. González has coached five state champion wrestlers and numerous state placers.
Mr. González served as a Vice Principal of Othello High School from August 2007 to June 2012. As the Principal of OHS, he has stated and firmly believes, "It is an honor and a privilege to come home and serve the community of Othello and the Othello School District as the Principal at Othello High School. I look forward to our work together with students, teachers, support staff , and all parents and community members to provide the best educational experience with the work ethic it deserves. Mr. González is married to Marci González who is an Instructional Coach at Hiawatha Elementary School. They have two boys, Bo and Ezra. Mr. González is the oldest son of Carlos and Veronica González of Othello. Mr. González's father, Carlos Sr., is an electrician and pivot technician at Irrigation Specialists and Veronica, Mr. González's mother, is a school bus driver for the Othello School District. Mrs. Veronica González has been a school bus driver for the Othello School District for 28 years. Working at Othello High School isn't just a job for Mr. González, it's a lifestyle for the González Family, which they love and embrace.
