Congratulations to freshman Scott Baron for being selected this week?s Patapsco Student of the Week! Scott was nominated by his PE teacher, Mr. Scott Rudolph, for being, ?a fantastic student. He works very hard in fitness foundations and leads others by example. This past week Scott posted a 6 minute and 20 second mile. This was the fastest time in all the physical education classes this semester. Scott has gone out of his way to always volunteer to clean up equipment. Scott leads by example; demonstrates activities, helps others, and is always on task. Scott is a great athlete and a great student.?
Tuesday, May 28th is Support Oklahoma Day at Patapsco! Wear red to show your support! There will be a table set up on the black top where you can donate to the Red Cross to support the tornado victims. We will also have two banners to sign that will be sent to Plaza Towers and Briarwood Elementary schools in Moore, OK. Anything you can give will help!
Congratulations to Danielle Goins for being selected to attend the Hugh O'Brian Youth Leadership Seminar this weekend! Danielle was chosen for this premiere organization for being an outstanding sophomore and will attend the leadership summit at Mt. St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, MD on May 23-26.
Congratulations to junior Amber Triplett for being named 1st place winner in the Congressional Art Competition for the 2nd Congressional District! Amber's photo-manipulation piece will be displayed at the U.S. Capitol for a year, alongside the winning entries from other congressional districts across the nation! Congratulations to senior, Sydney Lawson, this week?s Student of the Week (beginning May 6)! Sydney was nominated by Mr. Sean McComb, English teacher and AVID advisor. He says, ?Sydney is a dedicated AP Psychology student, serves as an AVID tutor, cares for an elderly family member in need and provides transportation to work for a fellow student in need. She is an incredibly kind and giving student who is a role model for her peers.?
