To those with ears to hear, libraries are really very noisy places. On their shelves we hear the captured voices of the centuries-old conversation that makes up our civilization." -- Healy
Providence Library Mission Statement
The library supports the mission of Providence Catholic School through both print and digital collections. Electronic databases and online resources provide expanded research opportunities and the reference & circulating print collection allows for scholarly and pleasure reading.
Our school librarian serves as a resource specialist, guiding students to academic research sources while teaching effective search strategies. Reader’s advisory services are available to promote both recreational reading and lifelong learning.
Library space enables both collaborative and independent studies. Extended hours of operation before and after school offer students ample access to library resources and a computer lab equipped with software to complete classroom assignments and access the internet.
"To be information literate, a person must be able to recognize when information is needed, and have the ability to locate, evaluate, and use effectively the needed information…Ultimately, information literate people are those who have learned how to learn." –American Library Association Report on Information Literacy.
