  • Congratulations to Beiya Sarmiento on her acceptance to Dominican University. She has been awarded the Deans Scholarship worth $54,000. Way to go Beiya!

 

  • Attention National Honor Society, Key Club, AVID, and any other artistic students looking for a unique community service project. Mrs. Fazio is looking for students to create murals at a local community facility and needs volunteers. Please come to the informational meeting on Monday, Jan.26th after school at 3:00 p.m. in E122. 

 

  • Students taking the ACCESS test stay at your 1st period class until you get called. Todos los estudiantes que vayan a tomar el examen ACCESS permanezcan en su clase de 1er periodo hasta que los manden llamar.

 

  • Stephanie Stafford has nominated Emma Gomez for being kind and a caring person.  She helps everyone out no matter what.

  • Attention senior boys- If you are interested in participating in the Mr. Sabre contest on Feb. 19th, you must see either Ms. Campagna or Mrs. Porto by the end of this week to fill out your forms.  Currently we have only 2 boys signed up and we would hate to have to cancel this great event.

 

  • Congratulations to Freshman Nick Christensen on qualifying for the IHSA Sectional Tournament.  He will be representing Streamwood this Saturday, good luck Nick!

 

  • Congratulations to Dennis Schichner on being accepted to Northern Illinois University. Way to go Dennis!

 

  • Key Club is hosting a Teens for Jeans drive, powered by Aeropostale and DoSomething.org. We are collecting jeans for homeless youth in the community. Bring in your gently used jeans to the Sabre Center by February 13th. The top collecting school will win a $5,000 school grant and a private concert by the pop group, The Vamps! If you have jeans lying around that you no longer wear - this is the perfect time to donate them to a good cause!

 

  • Monica Estrada was 1 of 14 nationwide winners of an EF Tours Global Student Leadership Conference.  She will visit Switzerland, France and England.  She will use Design Thinking—a creative problem-solving technique used by companies like Apple and Google—and be part of an international team of students that will create and present solutions to a pressing challenge facing the future of education. In order to win this scholarship, she had to create a video essay that spoke about her ideas regarding the innovation of the education system. Let's congratulate her for her fantastic accomplishment!

 

  • "Congratulations to the varsity girls' basketball team on their 49-48 win over Larkin this past Saturday.  The win was the team's 3rd in a row!  Senior Cayla Hawkins led the Sabres with a career high 22 points!  You can see the girls play again this Friday, January 23 when they take on St.Charles North at home.  The freshman and sophomore games will be at 5:45 with varsity following at 7:15."

  • Congratulations to Kimberlee George on being accepted into Stetson University, Bellarmine University, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Carthage College, and Alabama A&M University. Way to go Kimberlee!

 

  • Seniors - tickets for the senior cruise and the Great America grad night go on sale today in the main office during lunch periods.  Cruise tickets are $70 each and the Great America tickets are $50 each, cash only!!!!!!!

 

  • Congratulations to Neal Patel on being accepted to DePaul University. He has been awarded the St. Vincent de paul Scholarship worth $38,000. Way to go Neal!
