Students must return to school with up-to-date health records
All students are required to return to their schools on Wednesday, Aug. 16 with up-to-date health records, including physicals and immunization records. In order to attend classes on the first day of school, students starting preschool, kindergarten, sixth, ninth and twelfth grades must meet specific health requirements that have been sent by mail and are posted on the District’s webpage:http://bit.ly/2swPnbU
In accordance with School Board Policy Physical and Health Examinations of Students 7.100 and Immunizations of Students 7.102, Students will not be allowed to attend classes if they do not show proof of meeting the requirements before or on the first day of school on Aug. 16. Schedules will be held for seventh through twelfth graders until proof of meeting all health requirements is submitted.
According to the American Academy of Pediatrics, these health requirements are not only an important part of getting ready for school, they are also an important factor in your child’s healthcare. Please read the AAP’s article “Back to School, Back to the Door” to find out why a yearly physical exam is important.
Completed forms must be returned to the student’s school before or on the first day of classes. If you have questions or need additional information, please contact the U-46 Health Services Office at 847-888-5000, ext. 5334.
