Here’s a Tip!:  The next time you shop at Casey’s, trade in Casey’s paper certificates obtained from Blessings for a convenient gift card?  Casey’s is happy to exchange the certificates for a gift card in any denomination needed.  This means you don’t have to carry a thick stack of several certificates in your wallet but just one gift card that maintains a balance for you.  Next ordering session – get more certificates, and exchange them for a gift card or add the dollar amount to your existing Casey’s gift card.  Casey’s pays five percent with three percent going to you and two percent to the Home and School Association.  Of course there’s many other fine grocers available through Blessings as well.  Bon appetit.

 The Groupon Gift Card is available in a $25 denomination with a 7% non-profit contribution.  To redeem the gift card, the card holder must be a Groupon account holder or create an account on Groupon.com.  There is no cost to become a Groupon member.  You can download their free app. on your smartphone or sign-up on line from your computer.

 Did you know you can easily find all of your account activity anytime you choose by going to the shopwithscrip.com web page? Once there, the Account Activity tab lets you view all activity for the current program year and see your rebate amount too; a choice of viewing each Blessings order by summary or detail is also offered. The Reports tab has three different reports, allows you to enter any date range preferred, and has three different output formats so if you want to export your data to Quicken or Excel, you can.

Probably all of us know Blessings to be a fundraiser for SSPP.  Last year it raised over $30,000 in rebates from Shop with Scrips vendors.  It works that way because it functions like a group purchasing program.  Retailers are recruited by Shop with Scrips (the front-end of the Blessings program) to be a participating vendor, offering a discount back on gift cards purchased through Blessings.  Our group purchasing power makes it attractive to retailers to do so.  And because Blessings is structured in a way that also provides a rebate back to families, it is also a money saver which adds up to big differences when aggregated over a year’s worth of spending.  Here’s one family’s comparison to some other reward programs:

• American Express has the worst return at only 1%, plus they charge a $50 yearly fee to be in their rewards program
• Visa does better; although their return is communicated to be 1%, they waived the yearly fee and gave so many bonus points that the return nets 1.9%
• But Blessings does the best, with a better than 3% return.  That’s the net, average amount that goes to the family; in addition SSPP on average receives 2+%.  Talk about a win, win scenario.

To order Blessings register at “shopwithscrip.com” with the school code of 8F18354B4L86. Orders can be placed through this website at any time. The deadline is Monday at 7:00 am. After you place an order, print a copy of the order confirmation for your records. Payment can be made with PrestoPay or a check written out to Blessings and turned in on Monday’s. Orders will be forwarded to the Blessings office for further processing. On Thursday’s your order will be sent home in your red bag with your gift cards inside. Please use this bag for the full year. If you don’t have an order for the week, keep your bag for when you do.
