We are looking forward to a fun Thursday afternoon of fossil science with our 8th grade buddies. Each second grader should bring in a small (no bigger than palm size) textured item to press into a mold. Seashells with ridges work particularly well, but other texture items work also. Thank you to our room mothers and volunteers for helping with this!
Our school will attend 10:30 Mass on Ash Wednesday. We will attend Stations of the Cross each Friday afternoon during Lent.
We are winding up our second grade geometry unit (we revisit all concepts and units throughout the year). Our next chapter is a fun, hands on study of US customary and metric measurement. We continue to practice math facts. Harder subtraction facts are generally most challenging.
This week marks the beginning of upper case cursive letters. The children are quite excited!
