Welcome to Sterling Elementary School!

Sterling Elementary serves 160 students in grades K-6 and we are proud to have been recognized as a Distinguished Title I School and selected as a NASA Explorer School.

Students at Sterling Elementary participate in regular physical education and music classes.  Band is an option for students in grades 5 and 6.  Other curricular and co-curricular activities include art, Artist-in-Residence programs, computer classes, forensics, Battle of the Books,  Geography Club, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, basketball, and soccer. We welcome visits to our school by prospective students and their parents.

Sterling Elementary is proud to have been recognized multiple times by the State Department of Education for outstanding increased and sustained student performance through the State of Alaska's Performance Incentive Program and the Title I Distinguished Schools Program.  Students at Sterling Elementary are served through a variety of academic remediation and enrichment programs designed to target the individual needs of each student and to complement the instruction that occurs in our multi-grade classrooms.

If you’re a part of our Falcon Family, thank you for supporting our school, and if you aren’t, we hope you'll consider joining us!
