Mr. Zekofsky's Bio Page

Mr. Zekofsky is the academic counselor for all of the students in the Medical Careers Magnet, and for the students whose last names begin with "R" through "Z" for the Math & Sciences Magnet. He has been working with the Van Nuys High School Magnet Programs since the Fall of 2007.  


Before coming to Van Nuys High School, Mr. Zekofsky worked as the Director of Education for an International Education Non-Profit; an Assistant Principal of Counseling Services at Franklin High School; and a teacher and counselor at Hollywood High School.


He has experience as a Gifted & Talented (GATE) Coordinator, School for Advanced Studies Coordinator (SAS), and WASC Accreditation Coordinator.  At Van Nuys High School he is the Section 504 and Title IX Designee.


His educational background, includes a BA in Anthropology from Bard College; a MS in School Counseling from the University of La Verne, and an MEd in School Administration and Policy from UCLA.


Mr. Zekofsky's primary objective in working with students is discovering their motivation and using it to help them succeed in both school and life.
