Barring any further cancellations, the last day of school for 2011-2012 will be a half day on Thursday, June 14, 2012.  This closing date allows for the 180 school days required by the State Department of Education.

The 2012-2013 school year will begin Wednesday, September 5, with a half day for all students in grades 1 through 12 - a practice different from prior years that we need to follow to be in compliance with state requirements for student attendance.

Every year at this time, many families choose to honor Belmont Public School teachers or staff members by making a STAR Award donation to the Foundation for Belmont Education. You may also order a Friend Award to honor that very special individual.


The present school year will end early! Because of the mild winter and lack of cancellations, the last day of school will be Thursday, June 14. Students will have a half day of school on that Thursday.


Dates: MAY 1 ? 31, 2012. Walk as a family, Get to know Belmont, Find a Golden Shoe - Win a Prize! No Entry Required! Rules: Only one prize per family. Follow directions on each shoe. Shoes must be returned to the Health Department before prize is awarded.


Belmont High School of Belmont, MA placed first in their division of an exciting quiz bowl to become the national champions of the 2012 National Economics Challenge, presented by the Council for Economic Education (CEE).


At its meeting on May 22, the Belmont School Committee acknowledged the receipt of contributions and pledges, the total of which exceed current estimated costs for both phases of construction for the new Butler School Playground.
