Dear Family and Friends,

Aloha and welcome to Waipahu High School, Home of the Marauders. As a College and Career Academy high school, we’re focused on helping students to identify their passion, and providing the opportunities and supports for success. Our student-centered motto is My Voice • My Choice • My Future.

Students at Waipahu High School enroll in one of six career pathways and eleven career academies, including: Creative Media, Culinary, Engineering, Finance, Hospitality and Tourism, Information Technology, Law and Justice, and Teacher Education.   The Academy of Health & Sciences and the Academy of Natural Resources have been recognized as National Model Academies by the National Career Academy Coalition. These academies are the first in the State of Hawaii to obtain this prestigious honor.

Students in all academies and pathways begin their experiences in “houses” for freshmen and sophomores. The houses are comprised of teams of common teachers, counselors, and an assistant principal who collaboratively provides a system of support and enhanced personalization for students as they transition through their first two years of high school.   As juniors and seniors, students may elect to participate in any one of the twenty-five programs of study that are aligned with rigorous industry and post-secondary standards. The faculty and staff at Waipahu High School are truly dedicated professionals committed to the success of all students.

Waipahu High School also features a robust Early College program thanks to the generous financial support of over $1.65 million dollars from the McInerny Foundation, and thanks to our outstanding post-secondary partners at the University of Hawaii at West Oahu and Leeward Community College. Last year, over 650 students took rigorous college courses, ranking Waipahu High School at the top of dual credit enrollment of all high schools in the State of Hawaii.

In addition to programs that strengthen academic and career readiness, students enjoy participating in athletics, student councils, and a myriad of student activities. There are 17 sports and 30 student clubs and organizations to join to build leadership skills and to develop interests and talents.

We trust that this website will provide you with a brief glimpse into the exciting and innovative happenings at Waipahu High School. For more information, please feel free to call us at 808-307-9555.

Aloha,
