Children are to stay home for a fever above 100. Students must be fever free without the use of Tylenol or Advil for 24 hours before returning to school. Do not give your child Tylenol or Advil and send them to school. Children who have vomited or had diarrhea should be kept home until they are symptom free for 24 hours. Children who have been diagnosed with strep throat or pink eye must be kept home until they have been on prescribed medication for 24 hours before returning to school.
In the event a child becomes ill and needs to be picked up, the parent(s) will be called and are expected to come pick the child up as soon as possible or within one hour (60 minutes). If the parent(s) cannot pick up their child within one hour, the emergency contact person will be called and asked to come pick the child up. All parents must have at least one (1) emergency contact person who is in a position to pick up your child listed on the Emergency Medical information section of your Gateway account.
