There is a new Minister of Education in Nova Scotia. The Deputy Minister has announced her retirement effective December 31, 2017.
P3 schools have existed for almost 20 years and their leases are coming due. Decisions are being made for each school.
A Commission on Inclusive Education has been struck to look at inclusive education in Nova Scotia . ANSEA is hoping to be included in the review. The province is also looking into a review of school board administration and governance. ANSEA is hoping to hear the review parameters in order to help meet the tight reporting timelines (report by end of 2017).
Nova Scotia recently began implementation of a pre-primary program for 4 year olds. By 2020 all 4 year olds will have access to pre-primary education.
