November 2011 Departmental Curriculum Review and Revisions

Nov. 22, 2011 Departments turn in all revisions to curriculum guide

Jan. 17, 2012 Curriculum Guide completion.  Curriculum Maps posted.

Jan. 18, 2012 Teachers make recommendations to students for next year during their classes. Counselors discuss with students as well.

Jan. 18, 2012 Parents and students review Curriculum Guide course descriptions, consult with teachers, and consult with counselors regarding potential course requests.

Jan. 31, 2012: Instructions for how to request classes online posted to web site. -- SEE FILES and LINKS in the box at right.

Feb. 6, 2012 Online Course Requests Opens. Students review choices with teachers, counselors, and parents.

Feb. 9, 2012 Parent Teacher Conferences (6 - 9 p.m.), opportunity to discuss next year choices with current teachers and counselors.

Feb. 13, 2012 Online Course Requests Closes at midnight.  Those not completed are placed on waiting list.

Feb. 14, 2012 Counselors begin to resolve any discrepancies.

Feb. 16, 2012 Counselors complete request resolutions.

Feb. 17 - 22, 2012 Departments receive course request lists and grades for review and adjustments; discuss with other departments/counselors.

Feb. 23 - 24, 2012 Counselors resolve any discrepancies between student, parent, and teachers. Counselors adjust any course requests accordingly.

Feb. 27, 2012 Course request process closes and are considered final.

Resource (teachers, materials, rooms) planning, budgeting, allocation begins.

March 18, 2012 Course Request verification mailed out for existing students.

March 21 - 22, 2012 Incoming Freshmen Registration

March 23, 2012 Incoming Freshmen Registration closes.

March 26, 2012 Needs/Resource Assessments (teachers, sections, rooms, etc.) Begins. Master Scheduling Preparation Work Begins

August 1, 2012 Scheduling complete, posted online, and mailed out

August 3, 2012 Parents order textbooks
