Parent Volunteer Information

Parent Involvement at Lee Middle School

 

There are many ways that you can enrich your student’s educational and artistic experiences, all the while contributing to our school community. To fulfill your 10-hour commitment at Lee Magnet Middle School, you may do any number of the following:

 

  • Transporting your child to rehearsals, concerts, or practices
  • Attending school performances
  • Selecting your child’s instrument, dance clothes, or art supplies
  • Conferring with teachers or other school officials either by phone or at school
  • Visiting your child for lunch
  • Assisting with our school campus cleanup days
  • Creating dance or theatre costumes
  • Chaperoning a field trip
  • Volunteering in a classroom or the Media Center
  • Assisting with your student’s school projects
  • Reading to our students
  • Bringing your student to before school classes
  • Supervising independent reading at home for 30 minutes a night
  • Chaperoning school dances and other extra-curricular activities
  • Volunteering with Student Council, NJHS, Yearbook, or any other school group
  • Sharing your personal talents
  • Assisting with fundraisers
  • Volunteering at the reception desk
  • Helping answer phones, stuffing envelopes, or sorting mail
  • Copying and laminating
  • Creating bulletin boards and information centers
  • Volunteering in the ESE classrooms
  • Decorating/ building set items for dances, plays, or other productions
  • Attending SAC or other school committees
  • Helping with student drop-off and pick-up
  • Donating items needed in classrooms
  • Providing computer skills
  • Translating for students
