  •  I graduated from UCONN with a BA in English.

  • I attended the University of Bridgeport for a Masters in Education (1986)
  • I attended the University of Bridgeport for my Masters in Education Leadership and an 092 Certification (2011)

  •  All advanced degrees completed with honors.

After School activities:  

  • I have be the Sophomore and Junior/Senior class adviser; I have been the Yearbook adviser (two different times), the Drama Club adviser; the Newspaper/Literary Magazine adviser; and the Student Council adviser.

Did you work in any professional fields prior to becoming a teacher?

  •  I worked in Property Management for three years before going back to school to become a teacher.

  • I currently am and have been a UCONN ECE English Instructor for the last 12 years.
  • I have been the Director of the Extended School Year Program for the past four years.

  • When I coached cheerleading, all members worked to be on the honor roll and most were for every semester
  • Coached the cheerleaders to local, state, regional and national titles for the first time in Seymour history

  •  I attended the University of New Haven, where I majored in History and minored in Literature.

  •  I graduated Magna Cum Laude from my Bachelor's program.

Where did you go for your graduate degree and what was your major?

  • I remained at the University of New Haven for my Master's degree. I received a Master's degree in Secondary Education. I received a cross-endorsement to teach English (7 - 12) and Social Studies (7 - 12). I also received thirty additional credits from Southern Connecticut State University. These credits were specialized in Special Education. Upon completion, I received another cross-endorsement on my teaching certification for Comprehensive Special Education (K - 12).

Personal Hobbies:

  • I enjoy staying active. I play softball during the spring and summer. I enjoy the outdoors, including hiking with my dog, camping, boating, and relaxing at the beach. I also enjoy reading in my spare time.

Why is it great to be a Wildcat?

  • Seymour is a tight-knit community. Having grown up in this town and attended Seymour High School, there is such a pride in the town. My favorite quote, which I hear often from friends when they come back to visit is "Once a wildcat, Always a wildcat." There are not many schools or even towns that have successfully created a feeling of community, as we have in Seymour.
